Backed Coin Emission

Artemision

Artemision is the Create surface on Bitcoin Cash — genesis in one transaction. Category, backing rate, founder fee sealed into the covenant the moment it confirms. No upgrade key, no admin. The chain remembers what you chose.

— Where coinage began

The name is not decoration. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus is where the earliest coins were found — Lydian electrum, seventh century BCE, among the first coin-minting sites in history. Artemision marks what this surface is for: the moment a unit of account starts existing. For most of history, a privilege. Here, a function anyone can call.

Ancient Greek coins carried three values in the same object — the metallic, the nominal, and the commercial. The metallic value came from the metal itself, high when gold, lower when silver, much lower when copper; the initial gold-silver ratio was 1:12. The nominal was what the issuing polity declared — the Attic Tetradrachm at 17 grams, with subdivisions (1/6 drachma = 1 obol) and multiples (decadrachma). The commercial was what a coin was worth in circulation, in a specific market, on a specific day. By 400 BC coins were the predominant means of exchange across Greece — but without any polity imposing a single currency; each region ran its own, and the Attic Tetradrachm eventually prevailed on its merits.

Representative currency, then fiat, cut the metallic layer away. What circulates today is issuance without metal — value by declaration alone. Unbacked tokens look like that: a name, a ticker, a chart. Nothing underneath.

A Deviant backed asset restores the metallic layer at protocol level. Bitcoin Cash plays the role of the precious metal — every unit carries its BCH backing inside its own UTXO at a rate sealed at genesis. Redeeming it is spending your own coin; the covenant enforces the floor at consensus, no counterparty required. The coin is what it represents, again. And like the Attic Tetradrachm, no polity imposes it — assets compete freely, and any of them can prevail on merit.

A non-backed asset (NBA) is a plain CashToken with no backing rate — the honest form of "just a token": useful when the asset represents a claim, a share, or a bearer instrument without a peg. Artemision creates both families; the class you pick decides which contract deploys.

Genesis is one transaction. The category, the backing rate, the founder fee, the mint policy — all sealed into the covenant address the moment the tx confirms. There is no upgrade key. No admin. No later "tweak the parameters" transaction. The chain remembers what you chose.

The wallet does the assembly for you: pick the class, name it, set the numbers, review the parameters, sign once. What lands on chain is the asset — and every wallet in the ecosystem can hold it, swap it, or list it in the same session.

— What genesis seals

Category
The genesis-txid identifier. Every unit that ever exists traces back to this hash.
Backing rate
For an MBA: bits of BCH per unit. Immutable. The floor Potidaea enforces on every swap and redemption.
Founder fee
A mint-only fee, 0–5%. Automated revenue from activity, not from selling the asset. Fixed at genesis.
